According to reports of Economics Times HTC is leaving the Indian smartphone company. HTC South Asia President Faisal Siddiqui ,sales head Balachandran and product head R Nayyar have already left the Company.

The company told their 70-78 employees team member to leave the company, and company want to sell virtual reality devices from Tiwan.

HTC is planning to re-enter in the Indian market as online-only company but for now they are quitting.

An HTC spokesperson said that company will continue to sell smartphone and invest in India at the right time in right segment.
Many distributors have alleged that HTC has not yet paid their liabilities and they are planning to take legal action. A distributor said, "HTC owes money in several crores."
  
HTC spokesperson also said that they are trying to work with channel partners so that they can carry out the Business smoothly. 

HTC had shipped only 630,000 products in Q1 this year at the global level compared to 2 million last year. Its latest flagship phone, the U12 also did not perform well.
