A leaked report said that whatsapp is currently working on a new feature which is to show Instagram, Youtube videos in a small window in Whatsapp itself.

The iOS already support this PiP service. This feature will save your time from going to Instagram or Youtube Videos for opening the app sent by your contact.
The report was published on the WABetaInfo that Whatsapp is working on the picture-in-picture mode for android to watch in app videos. The whatsapp has updated its beta app in the google play store in the version2.18.234.

But as this feature is in development mode it's not available currently. Before launching this feature it will need several improvement. But it may be available in upcoming new update.
When the picture in picture feature will available on Whatsapp for Android, you will be able to see a White-coloured play Icon on any YouTube and Instagram video link shared on the Whatsapp.
When you will tap on the Icon the Video will pop-up in a small window in app. This box can be float to anywhere in any size on screen. This feature will be allow you to chat while watching the videos.
But in This feature Instagram stories will not available for play.
