Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on Tuesday that Faizabad district will now be known as Ayodhya speaking in a special festival 'Deepotsav' in Diwali east of Ayodhya's pilgrimage city.

This step came just after three weeks, the BJP-led government changed Allahabad to Prayagraj. Earlier, the Yogi government named Mughalsarai junction Pt. Din Dhayal had also changed in Upadhyay junction.
While announcing the announcement, the Chief Minister said that Ayodhya is a symbol of our 'Ion, Bun and Shan' (honor, pride and prestige). In addition, Chief Minister Adityanath announced the establishment of a medical college in the district after the name of Lord Rama's father, King Dasharath and Ram. He said, "Nobody can do injustice to Ayodhya," he said during his speech that it was expected that the Chief Minister would announce the Ram Constitution project.
